One jeweler back then even derisively described the hot pink cobalto calcite as "something you must have found under a movie theater seat". Maxam's passion for gemstones began thirty years ago. His love of travel and ability to speak numerous languages dovetailed with his finding beautiful gemstones the world over. His background includes dealing in fancy colored sapphires and phenomena stones, as well as fine quality mineral specimens. The combination of these experiences generates his enthusiasm for the new genre of drusy gemstones.
